Flaki, as pictured here, is a traditional Polish stew. It’s main ingredient of strips of beef tripe aka cow guts(to put it bluntly) usually gets a disgusted look from non-Poles. The other ingredients include beef, carrots, parsley, bay leaves, beef broth, and spices. Flaki can be homemade, but it also comes in ready made packets for those in a rush. Historically the stew goes back to the 14th Century, during which it was one of King Władysław II Jagiełło’s favorite dishes. And that my friends, you can tell everyone who goes “How the heck do you eat that stuff?!”
